“Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness”

Cooler mornings and evenings, where better to be than leaning on the AGA rail as it creates a satisfying meal.

Two tasty morsels this time, a delicious casserole using wonderful Mandagery venison to give a rich flavour to the dish mixed with good beef, cooked to perfection in the Simmering oven until you need it!

To follow an inimitable Bread and Butter Pudding using juicy pears with walnuts a new combination, with a little passion added!

Also time for that warming overnight porridge - What could be easier than placing it in the simmering oven as you go to bed and taking it out in the morning a hot, steaming, nourishing start to the day!

AGA cast iron casseroles conduct the heat so well and hold the heat when away from the AGA, most of them have flat lids so that the potatoes for the mash can be stacked in their pan on top to cook.

If you find cast iron too heavy for you, I adore the stainless steel pans, the casserole handle type which fit in the ovens so well. They also go in the dish washer and have a 25year guarantee, always a worthwhile investment. There is a huge range to choose from.

I often double the quantities of the bread and butter pudding and cook it in the AGA cast iron Chefs dish, two of these fit on the same shelf at the same time and cook excellent roast potatoes, lasagnes, chicken portions. These are from the contemporary range and can be put in the dishwasher too!
